Play Crazy Taxi Game

How to play Crazy Taxi Game

Drive your taxi cab as fast as possible without crashing into the other cars! Press the left and right arrow keys to steer, the up and down keys to control the speed and the spacebar to jump! Have fun!

This is really a flash back from the past because I remember first playing this game in a pizza parlor in California probably 10 years ago. It was housed in a large arcade console where you actually sat inside the unit with the steering wheel and screen up front and real gas and brake pedals down below. This was a great game and I remember many times when I was going to pick up pizza that I left the pizza under the heat lamps just so I could play a little longer. This was a fun and dynamic game back then and you will soon see in this Crazy Taxi Game review that this is still just as enjoyable to this day.

Crazy Taxi Of course this game has long since moved out of the arcade console and been delivered to almost every home gaming machine in existence. This means you can enjoy Crazy Taxi on Play Station, Play Station 2, Nintendo Game Cube, Sega Dreamcast, PC, Xbox, and many others. In fact this game is so fun and popular that it would be difficult to find a platform on which there is not a version available.

As all of my readers know I am an arcade game purist. What I mean by this, is that I love the simplicity of the arcade game, I have never wanted to adapt to the complexity of controls and the learning curve you have to go through in order to enjoy so many other non-arcade style games. The average Arcade game is intuitive, this is in juxtaposition to the average home console game where there are dozens of button combinations to learn in order to even begin playing. Crazy Taxi is self explanatory, you get in, you choose a taxi, you choose a driver, and you choose a city all by turning the steering wheel. After that you are off and directed by on screen arrows and obvious markers. This is great because you can enjoy the game from minute one, without even reading directions, and then, when you want to explore maximizing points and all of the other options within the game, you can jump into these later. This is great because it has something for everyone, simplicity for immediate fun, and complexity for those that simply love to know everything and get every little point possible.

Crazy TaxiFor me the fun was in screeching the tires, barreling into curbs, barely missing and sometimes hitting other cars and getting to each destination. The fun part too is that once you get a feel for the game you find out that sometimes taking shortcuts, like through a city park, actually gets you paid a higher fare by your passenger. I found that out by mistake, but it was fun going up and down the hills in the park avoiding picnickers.

There is all types of simple fun to be had within Crazy Taxi game. I know that there are many other Crazy Taxi reviews online where you can learn about all of the secrets of the program and even the history of how the game was developed and made. You will even find out that the original Crazy Taxi was actually the largest successful product placement game in arcade history, but all of that is irrelevant in the more recent versions of the game. Most of the product placements have been removed for one reason or another.

Crazy Taxi Game Versions

One last thing to note about Crazy Taxi is that there are many versions of the game available. There is Crazy Taxi 2, Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller, Crazy Taxi: Catch A Ride, and Crazy Taxi:Rafe Wars. As you can see this is one popular game that has quite a large following or it would not have so many versions. I think the games true success is attributable to its immediate ability to entertain, its simplicity in delivering pure action fun, and its underlying complexity where you can learn more and more about the game in order to maximize mastery. Buy Crazy Taxi, it is one game that you will never get tired of playing.
